Diwali
The Festival of Lights
Hello, Everyone!
Welcome to my Blog
There are many different festivals observed in India, which
contribute to the country's rich culture. These festivals are often associated
with religious and cultural events, these festivals are essential in uniting
individuals and celebrating the diverse traditions of the country.
Today I am going to write about the festival of lights, Yes It's
Diwali, Deepavali!
It’s Diwali Time! The air is getting crispier and the evenings are
getting lighter. There’s something in the air.
The Glow of Tradition:
Diwali is a festival of Lights, colors and tradition that brings
wonder into our daily lives.
Diwali is an emotion that spans generations rather than just a day
to the Calendar. The enchanting glow of the candles and diyas and lights that
brings every corner of our house draws me in. Not only the warmth is tangible,
but also it represents the love, happiness that Diwali offers.
Religious Significance of Diwali:
Diwali is also celebrated as the victory of Good over the Devil.
The Origins of Diwali can be found in ancient Indian Mythology, with various
localities linking the celebration to various myths. It is believed when Lord
Rama returning to Ayodhya following his victory over the demon king Ravana is
among the most well-known. And we worship Goddess Laxmi, who is considered to
be the bringer of wealth, prosperity.
It is believed that burning oil lamps or diyas during Diwali
symbolizes the victory of virtue and light over ignorance and darkness.
Preparation of Diwali:
One of the most important aspects of getting ready is cleaning and
decorating the house. Families take great pleasure in decorating their homes
with elaborate decorations, vivid flowers and colorful rangoli patterns. The
streets are filled with sparkling lights, producing an enthralling sight.
Enchanting Rangolis:
Every Year, the rangoli talents turn our doorstep like a colorful canvas. The complex and alluring patterns serve as a representation of the beauty found and variety. It's a ritual that connects to our roots and adds an artistics flair to the festivities.
Diwali Delights:
Now Let’s talk about the heart of Diwali - The Food!
Diwali sweets themselves are a festival, from the beautiful scent
of freshly baked sweets like Ladoos, GulabJamun, Barfi to the mouthwatering
crunch of Chaklis. Family recipes and hidden ingredients create a symphony for
the taste receptors, turning the kitchen into a center of activity. Sharing
these sweets treats with friends and neighbors is a common practice which
promotes a feeling of belonging and community.
Scientific Reason Behind The Joyous Festival:
Although Diwali is primarily a religious and cultural event, the festival has scientific significance as well. Diwali is celebrated in the Autumn season, typically in October or November. In the Indian Subcontinent, this is the period when the Monsoon ends and Winter begins. People clean and decorate their home which has practical implications of upkeep and hygiene. Eliminating pets and stopping the spread of illness are two benefits of cleaning. Lighting Lamps helps; clean the air, increase humidity, increase temperature, makes the air lighter and clear, combats insects.
Firecrackers:
Noise and air pollution are two environmental issues associated
with firecrackers. Air quality problems can be enhanced by fireworks chemical
release of harmful substances into the atmosphere. Furthermore, animals may
find firecrackers upsetting, and the loud noises they produce may be harmful to
people's health also.
But nowadays, Many people are choosing to celebrate in a more
environmentally responsible way as a reaction to these worries. This involves
reducing and giving up the usage of fireworks in favor of other festive traditions
like; burning lights, candles and diyas.
This change encourages a more moderated and environmentally
friendly celebration in addition to reducing the negative effects on the
environment.
India’s Diverse Festivals:
The variations in Diwali celebrations throughout India’s many
regions is one of its unique aspects. Because every state has its own
traditions and customs. Diwali highlights the nation’s variety and solidarity,
from the lavish celebrations in North India to the vibrant displays in South
India.
Diwali Celebrated Worldwide:
Apart from being observed in India, Diwali has become well known
and celebrated worldwide. Many countries with Indian diaspora participate in
the celebration by holding activities and lighting up public areas in honor of
the occasion. The festival’s optimistic and hopeful global theme appeals to
people from a wide range of cultural backgrounds.
In Summary:
Joy, community and the prospect of a better future are all present
as the Diwali festival develops. The celebration of Diwali’s universal message
speaks to people all over the world, and the customs and traditions linked with
it represent India’s rich cultural past. Diwali is a time when people celebrate
with lights, laughter and joy. It is a time to cultivate inner light and
inspire others to be happy and warm hearted.
I’m Wishing everyone a happy and bright Diwali!!
